Fire Damages business in North Columbia

COLUMBIA, MO (April 3, 2016) - At 3:27 a.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016, the Columbia Fire Department responded to a reported commercial structure fire at 4212 Bold Venture. Multiple 911 callers reported flames showing.

Columbia Firefighters arrived at 3:34 a.m. to find the warehouse portion of the building fully involved. Crews conducted an exterior attack and the fire was extinguished within 30 minutes of arrival. 

The cause of the fire and a dollar damage estimate has not yet been determined.  The fire is currently being investigated.

Three engines, a ladder, and a rescue squad responded to the incident.  Fire units are still on the scene.

The Columbia Fire Department wants to remind residents that working smoke alarms do save lives. Test your smoke alarms at least once a month by pressing the test button. Replace smoke alarm batteries atleast once a year. Replace smoke alarms every 10 years. To ensure adequate protection, place smoke alarms in every sleeping room, and in a common area on every floor.
