COLUMBIA, MO (August 29, 2016) - TYPE OF INCIDENT: Vehicle collision with injuries

CASE #: 2016-009469

DATE & TIME OCCURRED: 8/28/16 @ 7:08 p.m.

 

ACCIDENT LOCATION: Highway 63 South – Northbound & Stadium Boulevard East

 

DRIVER 1: Roger Dickey

                Jefferson City, MO

                Age: 50

                Injured: Serious

                Seatbelt: Unknown

                Alcohol/Drug use: No

 

PASSENGER 1: Becky Dickey

                       Jefferson City, MO

                       Injured: Serious, but stable

                       Seatbelt: Unknown

 

DRIVER 2: Pending

                Injured: Minor

 

DRIVER 3: Pending

                Injured: Minor

 

DRIVER 4: Pending

                Injured: Minor

 

DRIVER 5: Pending

                Injured: Serious

 

INCIDENT DETAILS:

            The crash occurred when vehicle #1 was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 63. Vehicle #2 served to avoid a crash and came to rest in the median on the left side of roadway. Vehicle #3 avoided vehicle #1 by going onto the right shoulder. Vehicle #4 was clipped by vehicle #1 and began going off the road to the right. Vehicle #4 then clipped the front of vehicle #3. Vehicle #5 was behind vehicle #4. Vehicle #5 was unable to avoid vehicle #1 which resulted in a head-on crash.

 

The accident investigation is on-going. More information will be released once it is available.
