City to hold Recycling Ambassadors training

COLUMBIA, MO (February 3, 2016) - The City of Columbia Volunteer Program will hold a training session for new Recycling Ambassadors Thursday, Feb. 25, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the ARC, 1701 W. Ash Street.

Recycling Ambassadors promote recycling, reuse and waste reduction. Ambassadors are asked to share a minimum of 12 hours per year promoting recycling after the training. Opportunities include staffing tables at festivals, giving presentations, conducting community outreach projects and assisting with education events.

The Recycling Ambassador program allows citizens who are concerned with the environment, natural resources and sustainability, options for hands-on participation to influence others to increase the recycling rate and reduce waste in Columbia.
