Commercial Structure Fire at Gates Rubber Corporation

COLUMBIA, MO (February 6, 2016) - On Saturday February 6, 2016 at 10:27am the Columbia Fire Department was dispatched to a commercial structure fire at 3015 Lemone Industrial Boulevard, Gates Rubber Corporation.

Crews arrived on the scene less than five minutes later and found the fire had been extinguished by the buildings sprinkler system.  It was contained to a small area with minimal damage.

Investigator, Assistant Fire Marshal Joel Pauley determined the fire was caused by friction from hand tools.  He estimates damages to be approximately $2,000.00

Six fire apparatus responded to this event.  There are no reported injuries.
