Wednesday Snow Causes Accidents, Keeps Joint Communications Busy

COLUMBIA, MO (February 10, 2016) - Snowfall on Wednesday created hazardous travel conditions and caused numerous accidents across Columbia and Boone County. Boone County Joint Communications Emergency Telecommunicators processed 92 emergency calls and roughly 32 accidents in Boone County between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

While the snow has left the area, motorists are advised to travel with caution tonight and during the morning commute on Thursday. Motorists involved in a non-injury accident to call are urged to contact the PSJC non-emergency line at (573) 442-6131.

Whether on the road or at home, tune to local media or NOAA Weather Radio for the latest weather information. Joint Communications provides updates on traffic conditions as needed through Nixle alerts (www.nixle.com), via Twitter (twitter.com/psjc911) or on the PSJC Facebook page (www.facebook.com/psjc911).
