Injury Crash at Grindstone Parkway and Rock Quarry Road

COLUMBIA, MO (February 14, 2016) - TYPE OF INCIDENT:  Injury Crash

LAW INCIDENT#: 2016028698/2016-001629

DATE & TIME OCCURRED: 02/13/16 @ 7:26 PM                  

ACCIDENT TPE LOCATION: Grindstone Parkway (RT AC) near Rock Quarry Road    

 

 Driver # 1:  Ann Devoy, age 48 of Columbia

 

Passenger #1:  11 year old male juvenile (name not released due to being juvenile)

 

Vehicle #1:  Gray 2008 Cadillac Escalade

 

Pedestrian #1:  Eddie M. Groff, age 64 of Columbia

 

 

Incident Details:

 

Eddie Groff had been traveling east on Grindstone Pkwy in a green Dodge Caravan.  After stopping at the stop light, his vehicle had mechanical issues and got out to check the vehicle.  Groff then began to cross the westbound lanes of Grindstone Pkwy (walking to the north) to call for help.  As he was crossing the roadway he was struck by a gray Cadillac Escalade driven by Ann Devoy.  Devoy's vehicle had been in the inside lane (passing lane).  

 

Groff was transported to the University of MO Hospital with life threatening injuries.  Devoy and a juvenile passenger in her vehicle were uninjured in the crash.
