Memorial and Candlelight Walk Planned for MLK Holiday

COLUMBIA, MO (January 12, 2016) - Columbia Parks and Recreation will hold the Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Candlelight Walk and Memorial Celebration on Jan. 18.

 

The candlelight walk will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Douglass High School, 310 N. Providence Road, and proceed to the Memorial Celebration at Second Missionary Baptist Church, 407 E. Broadway. The memorial will begin at approximately 7 p.m. During the service, members of the community will be recognized with the annual Dr. King awards.

 

The walk and memorial are both free and open to the public. For more information, call Parks and Recreation at 573-874-7460.
