Busted Sprinkler Head (701 E. Broadway)

COLUMBIA, MO (January 25, 2016) - On Monday, January 25, 2016 at 7:40 p.m. Columbia Fire Crews were dispatched to 701 East Broadway for a reported waterflow alarm.  

The first fire unit arrived on the scene at 7:43 p.m. and observed water flowing from a broken sprinkler head in the overflow City Council Chamber room.  Fire crews located the water shut-off valve in the basement and turned the water off.  The fire crew on the scene requested two additional fire crews to assist in water removal.  Fire crews located a secondary leak in the I.T. room.  Columbia fire crews and approximately seven police officers covered computer and other sensitive equipment with plastic tarps.  

The total estimated damage is unknown at this time.
