Commercial Vehicle "CNG Solid Waste Vehicle"
COLUMBIA, MO (July 11, 2016) - On Monday, 07/11/16 at 2:02 p.m. the Columbia Fire Department responded to a reported commercial vehicle fire at Route B/Highway 63.
Columbia fire crews arrived on the scene at 2:08 p.m. to find flames coming from behind the cab of the vehicle. Crews conducted an aggressive fire attack and the fire was extinguished within 15 minutes of arrival.
The incident commander requested a water tanker from the Boone County Fire District for an additional water supply resource.
There were no reported injuries. Two engine, Foam truck, and BCFPD Tanker responded to this incident.
A Solid Waste representative was on the scene and estimated the vehicle damage to approximately $300,000.
