Suspect detained in incident in the 1600 block of Woodmoor Court

COLUMBIA, MO (July 17, 2016) - Today, Columbia Police officers detained Monica Lynn Whited, 53, in reference to Friday night’s incident in the 1600 block of Woodmoor Court.

Since the incident, officers have continued surveillance on the residence Whited was occupying. At approximately 7:31 a.m., Whited exited the residence and officers detained Whited without incident. Officers and medical personnel made contact with the 80-year-old female who was also inside the residence. After a short evaluation by medics, the 80-year-old female and Whited were transported by Columbia Police officers to a secured facility. Upon release from the secured facility, Whited will be arrested.

Officers are serving a search warrant at the residence in efforts of locating evidence related to the initial incident on 7/15/16.

We would like to thank the residents in the area for their continued support in this incident. Residents generously provided access to their driveways and other amenities throughout the weekend.
