Parks and Recreation Presents Family Fun Fests

COLUMBIA, MO (May 13, 2016) - The Family Fun Fest series returns to Cosmo Park, 1615 Business Loop 70 W, for the summer of 2016. Parks and Recreation plans Fun Fests with a different family-friendly theme each month. The “Be Kind, Be Healthy” Family Fun Fest will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on May 18.

This month’s event is sponsored by Children’s Grove and Putting Kids First. The event will feature games, inflatables, face painting, and activities that stress awareness for mental and physical health issues and the importance of showing kindness to everyone.

Kids will also have the chance to check out a fire truck from the City of Columbia and the Daniel Boone Library’s Book Mobile, as well as participate in a Bike, Walk and Wheel Week fun ride/walk around Cosmo Park’s fitness trail at 7:15 p.m.

Food trucks will also be available, including the Big Cheeze, Kona Ice, Central Dairy and StreetDogs hot dog cart.

The Fun Fests offer a different theme each month including music, special performances, art activities, bounce-houses, hands-on activities, balloon-animals, face painting and fun for all ages.

The Family Fun Fest series is sponsored by Aetna, ParentLink, the Convention & Visitors Bureau, KPLA 101.5 and KOMU TV8.
