Fire Prevention Week Kick Off 2016
(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Columbia Fire Department and Columbia Professional Fire Fighters will kick off Fire Prevention Week 2016 at the Columbia Mall on Sunday, October 9 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm in the parking lot by the Sears / Dillards wing.

Members of the Columbia Fire Department, Columbia Police Department, Community Emergency Response Team, Red Cross, Safe Kids Coalition, Boone Hospital ambulance service, University Hospital ambulance service, Women's and Children's Hospital ambulance service and Firehouse Subs will be on-hand.  

Festivities include:


*Junior Fire Fighter Combat Challenge that gives small children a chance to put on kid sized fire fighting gear and navigate an obstacle course with fire fighters.  

*Live fire demonstration at 2:00pm

*Free barbequed hot dogs while supplies last

*Firehouse Subs while supplies last

*Columbia Fire Department's Patches and Pumper

*Columbia Police Department's McGruff the Crime Dog

*Fire truck bounce house

*Children's games

*Face painting

*Free smoke detectors while supplies last

*Fire truck tours
