CPD ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT RESULTS

COLUMBIA, MO (September 7, 2016) -                                                   CPD ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT RESULTS

 

On Friday, September 2, 2016 the Columbia Police Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint at Brown School Road and Providence Road (westbound only). The checkpoint began at approximately 9:10 p.m. and concluded at approximately 12:01 a.m. During the checkpoint, 138 motorists were contacted. The following arrests were made:

 

     .     One (1) Driving While Intoxicated Arrest (Misdemeanor Offense)

     .     Three (3) Driving While Suspended/Revoked (all three released on     signature summons)

     .     One (1) traffic stop for traffic violation unrelated to checkpoint

     

 

On Saturday, September 3, 2016 the Columbia Police Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint at Old Highway 63 (southbound traffic only). The checkpoint began at approximately 12:45 a.m. and concluded at approximately 2:45 a.m.  During the checkpoint, 139 motorists were contacted. The following arrests were made:

 

     .     Three (3) Driving While Intoxicated (2 Misdemeanor DWI Arrests and 1 Felony Arrest)

     .     One (1) traffic stop for avoiding checkpoint.

 

The Columbia Police Department would like to thank motorists who encountered the checkpoint for their patience and cooperation during our efforts to make Columbia’s roadways safer for all.
