**Update**Residential Structure Fire on Garden Drive

COLUMBIA, MO (September 8, 2016) - Assistant Fire Marshal Joel Pauley has determined an electrical outlet on the rear, exterior of the residence to be the area of origin.  The cause of the fire was an electrical malfunction.  The damage is estimated at $2000.  

 

Any additional information will be released as it becomes available.

The Columbia Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 1905 Garden Drive on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 7:19am.  Fire crews arrived approximately seven minutes later and observed fire on the outside of the back of the single family residence.

Fire crews performed an aggressive fire attack and had the incident under control in approximately fifteen minutes. There are no reported injuries.

Assistant Fire Marshal Joel Pauley is on the scene performing an origin and cause investigation.  More details will be provided when they become available. 

Seven units from the Columbia Fire Department responded to this call.
