<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The City of Columbia Sewer Utility and contractor, Twehous Excavating Company, Inc., will begin phase two construction Monday, June 10, on Private Common Collector Elimination (PCCE) 16, located along Bingham and Ridgely roads. Beginning daily between 7 to 8 a.m., phase two is expected to be completed in two to three weeks, weather permitting. </span><br /><span style="font-weight: 400;"><br />Phase one, the replacement of old private sewer lines with new public lines, has been completed. Phase two will remove the temporary concrete placed over the trench and permanent concrete will be installed. The affected street areas of the new sewer line will be milled and overlaid with a new asphalt surface.</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"><br /><br /></span><span style="font-weight: 400;">This entire PCCE project consists of installing a
pproximately 3,290 linear feet new 8" PVC sewer main, placing additional manholes and removing connections to the private common collector in the area. In order to connect the 40 properties to the new public sewer, construction also includes new private service connection points to the service lateral.</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"><br /></span><span style="font-weight: 400;"><br /></span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Investment for this project is estimated at $1.8 million and is being paid for with Sewer Utility </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">-</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Private Common Collector Elimination Funds, which were included as bond funds approved by voters in November 2013. PCCE 16 was authorized by the Columbia City Council through the public hearing process on May 15, 2017. Sewer Utility staff members have worked with the property owners to obtain easements and determine main location on the properties.</span></p></div>
