The City of Columbia and Boone County Planning and Zoning Commissions will hold a public hearing on the East Area Plan (EAP), formally called the East Columbia Area Plan (ECAP), on September 30, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the City of Columbia Council Chambers located on the first floor of the City Hall Addition, 701 East Broadway.  The purpose of the meeting will be to receive final public comments on the Plan prior to forwarding a recommendation to the City Council and CountyCommissionregarding its adoption.  The East Area Plan is intended to guide growth on the lands generally bounded by I-70, US 63, New Haven Roadand Rangeline Roadin eastern BooneCounty.
 
An on-line copy of the “Public Hearing Draft” will be available for advance review after September 24, 2010at www.gocolumbiamo.com/Planning/EastColumbiaAreaPlan_ECAP.php (under the “Plan” heading) or at the City or County Planning Department offices.
 
Preparing plans ahead of development and engaging the public is the purpose of this joint effort. The Planning Commissions invite all affected or interested residents to participate.
