After extensive public input, park planners have developed a proposed master plan for the Gans Creek Recreation Area and A. Perry Philips Park (southeast regional park) to send through the City Council process. The proposed plan was presented to the City Council in a report at the February 1, 2010 Council Meeting. Staff revised the plan after receiving public comments at meetings held last September.

At the Feb 1 meeting, the City Council approved a motion to refer the master plan to the Planning & Zoning and Parks & Recreation Commissions.

The Columbia Parks and Recreation Commission is holding a public hearing to take comments on the proposed master plan for the Gans Creek Recreation Area and the A. Perry Philips Park (southeast regional park).

The hearing will be held at 7 pm on Thursday, Feb. 18 at the ARC (1701 W. Ash).

This is an important opportunity for you to make your opinions known to the Commission. They will take comments under advisement as they prepare a recommendation for the City Council in regard to the Master Plan for the park. Please see the links below to view the report to City Council, the proposed park master plan, and for more information on the planning process.
