The following is the informational meeting minutes from the meeting on
Tuesday, October 26, 2004.

PARENTS AND COACHES MEETING NOTES
October 26, 2004

Meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Rose Scheidt welcoming all
the new faces at the meeting.

Frances announced the bowling information was mailed out this morning.
There is no lunch on Saturday, but lunch will be served on Sunday.
Uniforms will not be handed out for the tournament but it is suggested
athletes wear polo shirts or shirts with collars. If athletes want to
wear their gray polo shirt, that is fine.

Basketball practice starts Monday at New Haven Elementary School.
Youth will practice on Mondays from 6-7:30 p.m. and adults will practice
on Tuesdays from 6:30-8 p.m. Team skills will practice on Tuesdays from
6-6:30 p.m. Assessments will be done on November 22-23 and November
29-30.

Steve Wilmesherr will be giving a powerlifting demonstration on
Saturday, November 13th at the ARC Youth Weight Training Room from 9
a.m. to 12 p.m. We would like to add this sport in January if we have
enough interest in it. There was discussion if we started powerlifting
when practices would be scheduled. Annette thought Saturday was a bad
day because of all the other practices scheduled that day. Rose
suggested Sunday afternoon as a possibility. Frances is going to check
with the Fitness Supervisor to see when the weight room would be
available for practice.

The November newsletter is now on-line.

There is a Principles of Coaches Training scheduled for Saturday,
November 20th from 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the ARC. Call Frances if you
are interested in attending.

This Friday is the Halloween Dance. It is a costume dance. It was
decided David Hood didn't need to dress up this year. We usually have
a Thanksgiving Dinner with the dance in November but it is too costly
this year. Since the meal at the bowling banquet will be a Thanksgiving
meal, it will replace the November dinner. The November dance is on
November 19th and the Bowling Banquet is December 10th. People First
will be doing the dance in December. There will be a higher cost for
this dance - $3 instead of $2.

There will be bowling over the Thanksgiving weekend, due to the state
tournament being the following week.

Uniforms should be in some time next week. We were not able to get the
ones we ordered due to back orders, but the company did give us the
original warm ups we were looking at to purchase.

Frances asked if anyone had any equipment needs for our program. Jan
would like to get web gloves for the aquatics program. Frances would
like to buy a volleyball lobster for next season. This is a machine
that is like a tennis lobster that would shoot 6 volleyballs over the
net in 5 to 40 second increments. The cost is $1,400. We could do a
fundraiser next year for this if people are interested. The other
equipment need we have is for updated stereo equipment and music for our
dances.

Jan's company donated $1,000 for the rental of the University Pool.
The money has been deposited in the Park Improvement Fund which means
any unused portion of the money will be available for future rentals.
Jan mentioned she would like to purchase new shirts this year for the
swim team. Since the pool rental has been covered, she requested
parents may pay a little extra for the T-shirts for those athletes who
cannot afford them on their own.

The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 17th at 7:00
p.m.
