SOMO Budget Presentation

April Yaeger gave a presentation on the Special Olympics Missouri
Budget. She explained how items are recorded for auditing purposes and
the requirements for recording information for the IRS. It is a
generally accepted accounting practice for non-for-profits to have
around 70-75% of all expenses going to program costs. For SOMO in 2004,
program costs were 70%, management costs were 8% and fundraising costs
were 22%. April handed out an Income Statement for the Central Area.
If you would like a copy, please contact Frances at 874-7312. She also
included a statement of what it cost the Columbia Parks and Recreation
program to participate in the basketball season.
