A quick update on what has been happening with Columbia's Visioning process since the BIG Meetings:

A total of 425 people attended the two BIG meetings in November and December. Altogether, more than 1,500 ideas were generated and will be preserved through the end of Imagine Columbia's Future. Ideas collected from the Fall Vision Festivals, citizen survey, through the Boone County Partnership, discussion leader training and through online submittals are also preserved.

The consultant, ACP Planning, has completed sorting these ideas into 13 topics that will serve as the basis for which each Topic Group will be organized. In addition, ACP Planning has sorted ideas within each topic into sub-topics. Detailed information is available on www.GoColumbiaMo.com -- just click on the Imagine Columbia's Future link and look for the "new" Citizen Topic Group listing.

A Citizen Topic Group Kick Off meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, January 17, from 6-8 p.m. at West Junior High School, 401 Clinckscales Road. These groups will work for 6-8 months to generate goals for the future of Columbia and identify strategies for achieving those goals. These goals will be refined during the Exploring the Vision Workshop April 4, 2007 and then presented to the public at the Community Choices Workshop scheduled in June 2007.

Momentum continues to build as this process moves forward, and your continued interest and participation is greatly appreciated. Stay tuned for more updates on Imagine Columbia's Future.
