Dear Vision Partners:

Implementation of Columbia's Vision plan continues to move along.
Creating a connected, informed and engaged community requires public and
private participation and partnership.  One of the ways to achieve this
is through connecting events that bring ideas, people and resources
together.  In that spirit, I am pleased to send you the following
announcements and updates. 


*Vision Plan continues to shape policies and programs!

The Columbia/Boone County Health Department Presents:
"Change Starts Here: How you can make Columbia Healthier"
Tuesday December 2, 2008, 6 - 8 p.m.
Sanford Kimpton Building, 1005 West Worley

The Health Department will hold an informational and discussion meeting regarding their current programs, possible next steps, and their needs for volunteers in working for Chronic Disease Prevention.

*Vision Commission Interviews
City Council will begin interviews for the Columbia Vision Commission during a work session Monday, December 8, 2008. The work session is open to the public. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. the 4th floor conference room, Daniel Boone Building, 701 E. Broadway. 



*Our Vision...Our Heritage will be a part of First Night-Columbia event
As we celebrate the past and look to future, there will be a heritage-theme vision display at the First Night Columbia New Year's Eve event.   It is an opportunity to enjoy Ragtime music by pianist Bob Ault and to learn more about efforts to preserve the home and musical heritage John W. "Blind" Boone.  Please join in the fun  between 5:30 - 7 p.m. in the lower level of Stampers Commons at Stephens College.
