Good Morning!
Thank you for you continued interest in Columbia's vision actions and
events. As a contributor to Columbia's visioning process, here are a
few opportunities for you to help support the vision of a connected,
informed and engaged community.
Apply for the Columbia Vision Commission
The Clerk's Office is accepting applications for two vacancies on the
Columbia Vision Commission. The purpose of this commission is to track,
monitor and assist with implementation of the community vision process
by conducting periodic reviews and issuing an annual report on visioning
progress. Applications are due by noon, Friday, Oct. 9 at the City

Apply to serve on the Comprehensive Plan Task Force
The Columbia City Council is seeking applications for the Comprehensive
Plan Task
Force, a 15-member committee charged with assisting the Columbia
Planning and Zoning
Commission in the production of a new comprehensive plan for Columbia.
A “comprehensive plan” is a general plan for the future growth and
development of a
city, including recommendations for future land use, transportation,
community facilities,
housing, neighborhoods, economic development, environmental management,
parks and
recreation, urban design and historic preservation, and special areas
such as downtown. The next deadline to apply is October 9, with
applications available again in November and each month after until the
task force is fully appointed. Complete information is available at

Attend "Keys to the City," Tuesday, Oct. 27 - Reichmann Pavilion,
Stephens Lake Park.
Keys to the City connects Columbia citizens to local government with
three event components:
Office hours with City Council representatives from 5-7 p.m.;
City Services Information Fair from 5-7 p.m.; and
A Neighborhood Congress from 7-8:30 p.m.
The Neighborhood Congress will feature discussions on in-fill
development and the City's new Office of Neighborhood Services. More
