[Youth Baseball/Softball Cancellations]

Hello Youth of Columbia!

You are invited to participate in the FREE NFL Punt, Pass & Kick Competition on Saturday, August 13 at Cosmo Park Football Field #4!  Check-in / Registration time is 9:30am and the event will begin at 10am.

Over 4 million youth across the United States participate in this program yearly.  The top scorer in all age and gender divisions from our competition will advance to the sectional competition.  If you do well enough at the sectional competition, then you have chance to advance to the Team Championships at an NFL stadium prior to a game.  The 32 winners from the Team Championships will advance to the national finals at an NFL playoff game in January.  

The Punt, Pass & Kick Competition is a competition for males and females ages 6-15 in the following skills for distance and accuracy:

Punt:  One chance to punt the ball as far as you can and as straight as you can
Pass:  One chance to throw the ball as far and as straight as you can
Kick:   One chance to kick the ball from a tee as far and as straight as you can

The age divisions are 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15.  Boys and girls do not compete against each other.  Ribbons will be awarded.  NO CLEATS, TURFS OR FOOTBALL SHOES ARE ALLOWED.  Feel free to wear your favorite team's jersey!
 
Please bring a copy of your child's birth certificate or baptismal record when turning in registration forms to the Downtown Parks & Recreation Office (1 S. 7th St.), The Armory Sports Center (701 E. Ash St.), or fax to 573-874-7640.
 
I would like to also invite those of you that are from 8-12 years of age to our Monthly Youth Basketball Camps.  If you are one that truly loves the game of basketball and want to gain an “edge” on the competition, then this program is for you.  Our staff will teach you to become a better team player as well as fine-tune your individual game.  This is a great program to keep your skills sharp during the off season.  
 
Camps will go on year round.  The cost is only $5 per Sunday.  Please check the Leisure Times Guide at www.gocolumbiamo.com for dates.  Register at 1 S. 7th Street soon, there are only 20 spots per session.
