Good Morning,
We have had a couple of complaints from last week in regards to a lack of
face mask wearing and social distancing during Diamond Council youth
baseball and softball games at some of our facilities. Please remember to
always wear a face mask when at the ballpark as it is required by the
current mask ordinance. Below are some key points in regards to wearing
masks:
- Spectators should be wearing a mask at all times. The only point in which
spectators are allowed to take their mask off is when they have reached
their location to sit and view their game and if, at that point, they are 6
ft away from everyone except those living in their immediate household. The
mask should be put back on if one should decide to get up from their sit
and move around the complex.
-Coaches should have masks on at all times except when their team is in the
field for defense and the coach is left alone in the dugout and able to
social distance from everyone else. The mask should be put back on when the
team returns to the dugout to bat. The coach should be wearing a mask for
any pregame, during the game, and post game meetings with the team.
-Umpires should be wearing a mask at all times when not in the field of
play. They may remove the mask once they are on the field and able to
social distance from the players. If at any time they are in a position in
which they are unable to social distance from players and/or coaches they
must put the mask on.
-All players over the age of 9 should have a mask on at all times except
when they are in the field for defense or batting/running the bases. As
soon as they return to the dugout they should put the mask back on. Players
aged 10 and above should have a mask on at all times before and after games.
Please help us keep everyone feeling safe and playing baseball as we finish
out the season!
