Office of Cultural Affairs Updates...
Annual Arts Organization Funding
On October 6, City Council authorized contracts with the local arts organizations that will receive funding through the OCA's annual process. The contracts will then be processed by the City Clerk and the City Manager will have to sign them. The OCA will receive the contracts after that and will send them out immediately; hopefully by October 30. Organizations must return signed contracts and supporting materials that are requested before payments can be made.
Small Request Funding...The next deadline for Small Request funding is December 10. Applications will be for the second quarter of funding, January-March. Requests may be for up to $500 and must follow the below-listed guidelines (contact the OCA for a complete listing). Call 573-874-6386 for the application & guidelines, or use the on-line form at www.GoColumbiaMo.com (on the Cultural Affairs page).
* Funding is limited to one request per project. If a project is funded in the regular funding cycle it is not eligible for the Small Request category. Multiple projects from the same agency are allowed.
* Funds are available to agencies with annual budgets of no more than $500,000 and only to arts agencies. Collaborations are allowed, but only with an arts agency with 501-C-3 status as the lead applicant.
* OCA does not fund capital outlay or perishable items.
Columbia Festival of the Arts Thanks
Sincere thanks to the arts organizations that participated in the 12th annual Columbia Festival of the Arts, either by performing on a stage, helping with a children's art activity or sponsoring an informational display. Mark your calendar now for next year's Festival...September 25 & 26, 2004!
