The Commission is taking a month off for summer vacation! Their regular
monthly meetings will start up again on September 12, 4:15 p.m. in the
mezzanine conference room of the Daniel Boone Building, 701 E. Broadway.
Commission meetings are always open to the public.
ATTENTION ARTS ORGANIZATIONS.....
ANNUAL ARTS FUNDING PROCESS UPDATE
The Commission's arts funding recommendations will be presented to City
Council for their consideration on Tuesday, September 6. The meeting
starts at 7:00 p.m. and is in the Council Chambers on the fourth floor
of the Daniel Boone Building, 701 E. Broadway. The presentation will
include an opportunity for public comment. Applicants are not required
to attend but may do so as it is an open meeting. Final approval of the
funding recommendations will not occur until late September and
contracts cannot be authorized until after October 1.
SMALL REQUEST FUNDING REMINDER & FYI
Available dollars for Small Requests in the OCA's fourth quarter
(July-Sept.) have been allocated. The first quarter of the OCA's new
fiscal year begins Oct. 1. In order for a request to be considered at
the Oct. 10 Commission meeting, applications must be received by Sept.
12. Contact the OCA for an application and guidelines or use the on-line

ARTS ROUNDTABLE MEETING
Mark your calendar for the next Arts Roundtable...Wed., Sept. 7, 5:15
p.m. at the Convention and Visitors Bureau. The session will be
presented by Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts (VLAA) and
will focus on the basics of board duties and responsibilities. Staff and
board members are encouraged to attend. All participants will receive a
free copy of VLAA's new "Guide to Board Duties and Liabilities."
