Summer camps offered by Parks & Recreation
COLUMBIA, MO (April 8, 2004) -- Camp Adventure, a summer day camp for
children, is accepting registrations for all sessions. Let the great
outdoors be your classroom this summer! Camp activities include
canoeing, swimming, archery, arts and crafts, fishing and more.
Enrollment is open to children who have completed first through seventh
grades. Weekly sessions begin June 14. Registration fee is $190 per
regular session. Escapade Week, August 9-13, is $95. Sign up at the ARC
at 1701 West Ash Street, or call 573-874-7460 for more information.

Tiny Tot Summer Dance Camp will be held Aug. 9-13, 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.,
at the ARC. Kids ages 4-5 will learn basic dance moves and a fun dance
routine. Camp fee is $35

Summer Dance Camp 2004 will be held Aug. 9-13, 9 a.m. - noon, at the
ARC. This camp is for kids ages 6-10 years who want to learn routines
and fundamentals of ballet, jazz, tap or cheerleading. Camp fee is $55.

Theater Mini Camps will teach stage presence, acting techniques and
choral response. Weekly sessions begin June 14 for ages 5-7, 8-10 and
11-13 years. Camp will be held from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. at the ARC. Camp fee
is $42.

Teen Extreme allows teens to have fun at the ARC and make a difference
by volunteering in the community. Sessions begin June 14 for teens age
12-17 years. Monday and Friday are spent at the ARC, Wednesday's
location varies. Camp fee is $44.

North Shore Basketball Camp will be held June 7-11, 9 a.m. to 12:30
p.m. or 1:30 p.m. - 5 p.m., at the ARC. Campers ages 7-14 will receive
instruction in basketball fundamentals. Camp will feature former NBA
player Everette Stephens. Camp fee is $135.

Volleyball Camp, led by MU volleyball coaching staff and players, will
be held at the Armory Sports Center June 7-11 or June 14-18 from 9 a.m.
- 4 p.m. for children in grades 3-8. Camp fee is $95.

Sunset Camp will be held Monday-Friday, June 21 - Aug. 13, from 4 p.m -
8 p.m. at Worley, Optimist-Grand and Indian Hills Parks. Youth ages 6-12
years can enjoy arts and crafts, games, basketball, swimming and more.
Snacks will be provided. Camp fee is $15. 

STARS (Seeking Traditions, Art, and Rights of Passage) will be held
Monday-Friday, June 28 - Aug. 13, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., at the Armory Sports
& Recreation Center. This eight-week program is based on the principles
of Kwanzaa. Camp fee is $35.
