Swimming lake open at Stephens Lake Park

COLUMBIA, MO (August 9, 2004) -- The swimming lake at Stephens Lake
Park reopened for public use on Monday, Aug. 9. The swimming lake can be
easily accessed from the park entrance on Old Hwy 63. The public is
reminded that the lake is a non-guarded, swim-at-your-own-risk swimming
beach. Rules and safety tips are clearly posted at the beach. Swimmers
are asked to familiarize themselves with the rules before entering the
water.
