Budget public hearings begin; Council meeting begins earlier

COLUMBIA, MO (August 13, 2004) -- The first of three planned public
hearings on the proposed Fiscal Year 2005 budget will be conducted
during Monday night's City Council meeting. The meeting will begin at
6:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber, located on the fourth floor of City
Hall, 701 East Broadway. This is a half hour earlier than normal.

City Manager Raymond A. Beck presented the proposed budget on July 29.
Public hearings are scheduled as follows:

Aug. 16: Council meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.
Sept. 7: Council meeting begins at 7 p.m.
Sept. 20: Council meeting begins at 7 p.m.

The proposed budget is posted on the city's Internet site at
www.GoColumbiaMo.com on the City Manager's page. Copies are
available for viewing at the Columbia Public Library and in the City
Finance Department office at City Hall.
