Volunteers still needed for First Night
(COLUMBIA, MO) - Volunteers are needed for First Night, a
community event held on New Years' Eve in downtown Columbia. The event
requires the assistance of about 150 volunteers who each share two to
three hours of time.
The greatest need is for volunteers who can assist after 8 p.m.
Tasks include selling buttons, serving as an usher or buttons checker,
surveying attendees and assisting with carriage rides.
First Night organizers appreciate the help of the over 100
people who have already volunteered to assist with the event. All
volunteers receive a complimentary admission button to enjoy First Night
before and after their shift. There are also opportunities for spouses,
friends and families to volunteer together.
Those interested in volunteering for First Night are encouraged
to contact the city of Columbia Office of Volunteer Services at (573)
874-7499.
