City offices closed on Independence Day; City Council meeting Tuesday

COLUMBIA, MO (July 1, 2004) -- City offices will be closed on Monday,
July 5, in observance of Independence Day.

The regular City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 6, at 7
p.m. in the Council Chambers, located on the fourth floor of City Hall,
701 E. Broadway.

Residential refuse and blue bag collection will not be made on July 5
and will be delayed one day throughout the week. Questions concerning
holiday refuse collection may be directed to the Solid Waste Division at
874-6291.

The Activity and Recreation Center (ARC) will be open on Sunday, July
4, from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. All aquatic facilities will be open on
Sunday, July 4, from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. The ARC will observe regular hours
on July 5.

City buses will not operate, the sanitary landfill will be closed and
parking meter regulations will not be enforced.

Though administrative offices for both the Police and Fire Departments
will be closed, all other emergency services will be available.
