Free karate class for kids

COLUMBIA, MO (October 5, 2004) -- Columbia Parks & Recreation invites
children ages 6-14 to participate in a free introductory karate program
on Monday or Thursday evenings from 7-7:30 p.m. at the Armory Sports
Center, 701 E. Ash Street.

Free classes will continue through Oct. 21. At that time, participants
will have the opportunity to continue instruction for a fee of $68 for
eight weeks, two sessions per week. Once registered, your child will
receive a free uniform and be promoted to the rank of White Belt with a
yellow strip. The strip indicates that the child has already grasped
several of the essential basics from the aforementioned program. The
next step is a full rank promotion.

Classes will be taught by black belt Ray Walker. Walker has over 20
years of karate teaching experience. Call 874-6379 to register.
