Beginning of Phase 3 of the Oakland Gravel Road, Brown School Road and
Roger I. Wilson Memorial Drive Intersection Project

(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Public Works Department announced the
beginning of the third and final phase of construction of the Oakland
Gravel Road, Brown School Road and Roger I. Wilson Memorial Drive
Intersection Project. This phase is scheduled to begin on Monday, Oct.
11, weather permitting.
Phase III of the project involves the closure of the Highway 63
overpass and southbound exit ramp. This closure will allow
APAC-Missouri, Inc. to construct new approach pavement from the
intersection to the highway 63 overpass. Roger I. Wilson Memorial Drive
north of the new intersection, Brown School Road to the west and Oakland
Gravel Road to the south will remain open to through traffic, however
the access to Highway 63 at that point will be closed. All detours for
access to Oakland Gravel Road will be appropriately signed.
This closure and associated detours are expected to remain in
effect for three weeks, weather permitting. It is anticipated that the
entire project construction will be completed fall of 2004. Care should
be exercised in the construction area and alternate routes with marked
detours should be used.
