Columbia Regional Airport and MU Mobile Aircraft Firefighting Trainer
to be featured on History Channel

COLUMBIA, MO (October 20, 2004) -- Columbia Regional Airport and the
Mobile Aircraft Firefighting Trainer (MAFT) operated by the University
of Missouri Extension's Fire and Rescue Training Institute (MUFRTI) will
be featured in a segment of the History Channel's "Tactical to
Practical" show on Monday, Oct. 25, at 10 p.m. The segment, starring
host Hunter Ellis, will be repeated Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 2 a.m. The show
was filmed last July with the participation of the aircraft rescue
firefighters of the airport safety office, MUFRTI staff and
representatives from the Missouri Department of Transportation.

MAFT was funded by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the
Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) Aviation Division. MAFT is
used to conduct initial and recurring aircraft fire fighting training at
airports around the nation and is stored at Columbia Regional Airport.
The primary users of MAFT are the firefighters who work on airports
supporting commercial passenger aircraft flights.

Located 12 miles south of Interstate 70 on U.S. Highway 63, Columbia
Regional Airport has been providing reliable and convenient services to
more than 400 destinations since 1968 for a collective population of
330,000, including Columbia, Jefferson City and the Lake of the Ozarks.
