Festival-goers to create 'Monster Mural'
COLUMBIA, MO (September 10, 2004) -- The thirteenth annual Columbia
Festival of the Arts will feature a "Monster Mural," a large-scale
mural that event-goers can help paint.

The Mural, measuring 20 feet long and six feet tall, resembles a page
from a giant coloring book. It will feature recognizable images of
Columbia, including the Boone County Courthouse and various sculptures
around town.

Festival-goers are invited to help finish the Mural by painting it
during the two-day event. The Monster Mural will be located in the
Children's Art Area on Ash Street, between Seventh and Eighth Streets.

The Monster Mural is sponsored by CenturyTel and the Columbia
Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The Festival is free and open to the public. It will be held at the
Boone County Courthouse Square and surrounding streets in downtown
Columbia on Sept. 25-26. Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both
days.

For more information, including a map and stage schedules, consult the
special Festival insert in the Columbia Daily Tribune's Sept. 23 issue
or contact the Office of Cultural Affairs at 573-874-6386, e-mail
Festival at GoColumbiaMo.com or log on to www.GoColumbiaMo.com (GoWord:
