Traffic restricted on Highway 63 for railroad crossing repairs

(COLUMBIA, MO) - Beginning on Wednesday, April 13, weather
permitting, the Columbia Terminal Railroad (COLT) will make repairs to
the highway-rail crossing on Highway 63. The crossing is located in
north Columbia between Paris Road and Brown Station Road.
The repairs will be done during the middle part of the day in
order to avoid both the morning and evening rush periods and are
expected to take approximately four hours each day. Traffic on
southbound Highway 63 will be restricted to one lane on Wednesday, April
13, and traffic will be restricted to one lane on northbound Highway 63
on Thursday, April 14, while the repairs are made. Motorists are urged
to drive with caution in the construction zone.
The COLT is a short line railroad owned and operated by Columbia
Water & Light and provides railroad freight service to Columbia and
mid-Missouri.
