Summer youth volunteering directory now available
									
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Voluntary Action Center and city of
Columbia's Office of Volunteer Services presents the Directory of
Summer Youth Volunteer Opportunities 2005. This directory contains a
list of various organizations in Columbia that offer volunteer
opportunities for the city's youth throughout the summer.  
	The Directory of Summer Youth Volunteer Opportunities offers
youth ages 12 and up a variety of options on how to spend their summers
staying involved, while helping the community and having fun at the same
time. Included with each organization in the directory is a brief
description of the duties that will take place this summer, criteria and
contact information.  
	Directories have been distributed to Columbia's middle, junior
high, and senior high schools. It can also be accessed online at
www.GoColumbiaMo.com and www.vacmo.org. 
	In addition to the many opportunities that this directory makes
available to youth in the community, the city of Columbia's Office of
Volunteer Services also sponsors Youth in Action each year. Youth in
Action is a summer volunteer program aimed at kids ages 12-15.
Volunteers in this program will have an opportunity to help with a
number of activities for the city of Columbia and other community
