Fire damages vacant mobile home

COLUMBIA, MO (August 30, 2005) -- Columbia firefighters responded to a
residential structure fire in Rustic Meadows Trailer Court, at 3406
Range Line Road. Upon arrival, fire crews found smoke and flames in the
kitchen area of the home. The fire was controlled within minutes of the
first arriving fire company.

The home is owned by David and Brenda Anderson. They had been planning
on moving into the home and had been busy cleaning and repairing the
structure.

Brenda Anderson stated they had paid the deposit just this morning to
have the electricity turned on to the home. Brenda and David had stopped
by the house at around 10:30 to see if the electricity was on. After
finding the electricity had been hooked up, they left the home. 

Neighbors could smell and see smoke coming from the Anderson home and
called 911 at approximately 11:22.

Fire investigators have determined the fire to be accidental caused by
an electrical malfunction.
