City arts funding applications available

COLUMBIA, MO (January 12, 2005) -- Applications for the city's arts
funding process will be available starting Wednesday, Jan. 26.

Staff at the Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA) and members of the
Commission on Cultural Affairs will be available to meet potential
applicants to discuss the form and process from noon to 6 p.m. Jan. 26
in the community room of the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), 300
S. Providence. 

Representatives of local arts organizations are encouraged to stop by
the CVB at any time during the afternoon Jan. 26 to get an application
and learn about the process. 

After the session, the application forms will be available at the OCA,
13 N. 8th St. OCA staff is likewise available year-round to meet
one-on-one with potential applicants. 

To qualify for city arts funding, lead applicants must be arts
organizations with 501c3 status. Collaborations with other entities are
encouraged. In fiscal year 2005, the city is providing more than $76,000
to 16 local arts organizations. Funded projects focus on presentation of
visual, performing and literary arts and related educational offerings.
