Paving work planned at Cosmo Park
COLUMBIA, MO (June 6, 2005) -- The Columbia Parks and Recreation Department is planning a number of paving projects at Cosmopolitan Recreation Area over the next two weeks. The work will include improvements to parking lots and roads within the park.
The affected areas include:
* the road between the entrance circle and Rainbow Softball Complex,
* the lot in front of soccer fields 7 and 8 and the dip in the road near those fields,
* the lot in front of soccer fields 13, 14 and 15,
* the two lots in front of the main entrance to the Antimi Complex,
* and the road curving back toward the Antimi Black and Gold Fields.
The parks staff is working with paving contractors to ensure there is minimal impact to park users. However, some lots may be blocked or have limited access for users at various times. Park users are asked to refrain from parking or driving on grass or landscaped areas during these times.
Upcoming paving projects at other parks include the paving of the east parking lot at Oakland Park and the paving of the lot at the day camp site at Stephens Lake Park.
