Fifth & Cherry Sidewalks Improvement Project construction
   
									
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Public Works Department announced the
resumption of  construction of a sidewalk improvement project at the
intersection of South Fifth Street and Cherry Street. This project is
scheduled to begin on Wednesday, March 30, weather permitting. Fifth
Street at the intersection will be closed to thru traffic. Cherry Street
will remain open.
	Admire Construction, LLC of Mexico, Mo., was the successful
bidder on the project in the amount of $74,820. The remainder of the
project will consist of the construction of brick crosswalks across both
the north and south side of this intersection across Fifth Street.
	It is anticipated that construction will be completed by the end
of April. Care should be exercised in the construction area and
alternate routes should be used.
