City Council seeks input on five city manager candidates

COLUMBIA, MO (November 14, 2005) -- The City Council is seeking public
input regarding the five city manager candidate finalists: Norton
Bonaparte, Steve Rasmussen, Larry Stevens, Sean Stegall and Bill
Watkins. The candidates held individual press conferences and then
participated in a community forum Friday afternoon. The community forum
will be rebroadcast on the Columbia Channel (Mediacom channel 13,
Charter Communications channel 2) Nov. 15 at 6 a.m., 9 a.m., 6 p.m. and
9 p.m. 

Beginning today, the public will have the opportunity to submit
comments through the city of Columbia's Web site at
www.GoColumbiaMo.com. Beginning tomorrow, the public may also submit
comments by calling (573) 817-6400. Council members may also be
contacted directly at the following email addresses: Mayor Darwin
Hindman, mayor at GoColumbiaMo.com; First Ward Councilwoman Almeta Crayton,
ward1 at GoColumbiaMo.com; Second Ward Councilman Chris Janku,
ward2 at GoColumbiaMo.com; Third Ward Councilman Bob Hutton,
ward3 at GoColumbiaMo.com; Fourth Ward Councilman Jim Loveless,
ward4 at GoColumbiaMo.com; Fifth Ward Councilwoman Laura Nauser,
ward5 at GoColumbiaMo.com; and Sixth Ward Councilman Brian Ash,
ward6 at GoColumbiaMo.com. 

Input will be accepted through 5 p.m. on Nov. 17. The City Council will
meet the evening of Nov. 17 to discuss the candidates. The city manager
job description and recruitment profile are currently posted on the
city's Web site.
