Opening of Green Meadows Road Extension
(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Public Works Department announced the
opening of the Green Meadows Road Extension from Providence Road east to
Grindstone Avenue.
The eastern side of the signalized intersection of Green Meadows
Road and Providence Road is now open to thru traffic. Traffic from the
north outer road is now diverted onto the newly constructed outer
roadway to Green Meadows Road. Traffic from the south outer road
(Buttonwood Drive) is now open to Green Meadows Road by a "right turn
only" lane.
Steve & Associates Inc. of Fulton, Mo., was the successful
bidder on the project in the amount of $1,478.758.26. This project
consists of the construction of 43-53 foot wide asphaltic cement
concrete pavement with concrete curb and gutters, 3,420 lineal feet of
storm drainage piping, an 8-foot wide pedway, 5-foot wide sidewalk,
landscaping islands and other incidental work.
While the roadway is open to public traffic, work still
continues to complete the project. Care should be exercised in the
construction area for the safety of workers and traveling public.
