Columbia/Boone County Office of Emergency Management able to relay
Hurricane Katrina rescue information
									
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - Due to numerous calls, the Columbia Boone
County Office of Emergency Management would like to inform the public
that the office will forward any rescue requests of those requiring
immediate evacuation to resources in the disaster area.
	"Frequently disaster victims are able to call outside a
disaster area relaying vital information. If anyone in the Boone County
area has been in contact with someone in the disaster area who has an
immediate rescue need, he/she may contact us," said Emergency
Management Director James McNabb. "We will relay the information to
the rescue resources in the area."
	The office can only relay immediate rescue information. This
doesn't pertain to checking on the welfare of individuals or where
someone is located. 
	Please call Emergency Management at 874-7400 during the day or
874-7470 after hours or weekends.
