Special Olympics plans 'Bowl for Gold' fundraiser

COLUMBIA, MO (September 12, 2005) -- Central Area will host its annual
fundraiser, the Bowl for Gold Tournament, on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 2-6
pm, at Town & Country Lanes, 1508 N. Providence Road. Proceeds will help
with the cost of training, uniforms, equipment and facility fees for
14,000 Special Olympics athletes.

Bowl for Gold is a great way to have fun and support Special Olympics
at the same time. Good bowling skills are not required to participate.
Bowlers may enter the tournament as an individual or a team of five.
Individual cost is $10 and team cost is $50. Awards will be presented
the day of the event. Prizes include gift certificates to local stores
and restaurants.

The event will include a silent auction and raffle. Raffle prizes
include a $100 gift certificate to Westlake Hardware, a grill from Bass
Pro Shop, a handcrafted quilt and various gift certificates.
