One lane of Highway 63 restricted on Thursday
(COLUMBIA, MO) - On Thursday, April 20, the Columbia Terminal
Railroad (COLT) will make repairs to its rail crossing at US Highway 63
between Paris Road and Brown Station Road. The repairs, expected to take
approximately four hours, will be made during the middle part of the day
in order to avoid both the morning and evening traffic rush periods.
Traffic on southbound US Highway 63 will be restricted to one lane while
the repairs are made.
The COLT repair work is part of the railroad's maintenance
plan. Well maintained tracks are an important part of the railroad's
ability to make deliveries. The repairs will also enable motorists to
travel over the tracks in a smoother fashion. Motorists are encouraged
to find alternate routes in these areas while the construction is taking
place.
Weather conditions could change the timeline associated with the
rail repair work projects.
