Columbia Regional Airport Commercial Air Service
(Columbia, MO) - The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has
issued an order requesting proposals from air carriers interested in
providing replacement commercial air service at Columbia Regional
Airport. The order:
stipulates that Trans States Airlines, which currently does
business in Columbia as AmericanConnection, will continue to maintain
its present level of service out of Columbia Regional Airport until
replacement service begins, and
requests proposals, with or without subsidy, from carriers
interested in providing replacement service.
The DOT's order for Essential Air Service (EAS) can be found

"As soon as Trans States Airlines announced they would be
exiting the Columbia market, we started receiving calls from people who
were concerned about future flight schedules. The city is pleased to
announce that Trans States will continue to provide its current level of
commercial air service out of Columbia Regional Airport until a contract
for replacement service can be finalized," said Kathy Frerking,
Columbia Regional Airport manager.
Trans States' current schedule is:
Departing from Columbia to St. Louis
06:16 a.m. - Daily
11:13 a.m. - Daily
02:53 p.m. - Monday through Friday; Sunday
Arriving in Columbia from St. Louis
10:53 a.m. - Daily
02:33 p.m. - Daily
08:28 p.m. - Monday through Friday; Sunday
As with all airlines, departure and arrival times are subject to
change so you are encouraged to contact the airline directly several
days before traveling to check their schedule. They can be reached at
Ph# 1-800-433-7300 or by visiting the American Airlines Web site at
www.aa.com.
The EAS order requested proposals from interested carriers to
provide air service that "should contemplate sufficient capacity to
meet the program maximum of 67 seats a day.
Located 12 miles south of Interstate 70 on U.S. Highway 63,
Columbia Regional Airport has been providing reliable and convenient
commercial and general aviation services to central Missouri since
1968.
