Community Circle: 'Crime and Community - Considering Restorative
Justice Through Dialogue'Monday

April 24, 6 p.m. - 8:45 p.m., Columbia Public Library

(COLUMBIA, MO) - Perceptions about crime, its victims and
offenders, and its impact on individuals and community as a whole,
cannot be easily measured or described. These are complex issues that
affect us all. Join fellow citizens in facilitated small-group dialogue
to hear and share different personal perspectives and experiences (not
for judgment, guilt or blame). Learn about Restorative Justice from MO
Restorative Justice Coalition members and others. Monthly Community
Circles, free and open to the public, are sponsored by the Columbia
Human Rights Commission.

Quotes from past participants:
"Most of the time you hear about people in other groups, but you
don't have an opportunity to associate a person or face with that group.
This is a window of opportunity."
"Hearing the experiences of participants in my circle opened my
mind to think of 'others' not as 'others' anymore, but as people just
like me in many ways."

Upcoming Circles: ? Thursday, May 18, Focus: Poverty and Welfare
(Same time & place) ? Tuesday, June 27: 3rd annual "TEEN SPEAK!"
