Back to school reminder about required child immunizations
									
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - As students and parents are preparing for
school, it is important to remember that preparation includes regular
immunizations. Immunizing children has been a proven method of ensuring
healthy students. Vaccines have all but eliminated most childhood
diseases, saving untold numbers of lives and millions of dollars in
health care costs.
	Immunizations are available for both school-age children and
those entering college at the Columbia-Boone County Health Department
located at 1005 West Worley, Monday- Friday from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Payment methods accepted include cash, check and Medicaid. Parents of
children attending Columbia Public Schools may go to
www.columbia.k12.mo.us/healthservices for more information on
required vaccinations. It is also important for parents to contact their
child’s physician or local health department for an updated
vaccination record for each child.
