Show-Me Yards and Neighborhoods workshops on Aug. 16, Aug. 23 and Aug.

	(COLUMBIA, MO) - The city of Columbia Public Works Department
announces “Show-Me Yards and Neighborhoods” workshops from 6:30 p.m.
to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 16, Aug. 23 and Aug. 30. If you are interested in
great lawns and clean streams, environmentally-friendly yard care or
need answers to yard care problems, please attend any or all of these
workshops at the ARC (Room A), 1701 West Ash (ARC is located two blocks
east of Famous Barr). To register, call 874-7616 or email

	Presentations will include:
*	Solving basic problems:  moles, fungus and crabgrass
*	Adding nutrients without adding chemicals
*	How and why to build a rain garden
*	Why consider native plants
*	What about commercial lawn care
*	Equipment and techniques for your best lawn
*	Healthy soil = healthy grass and gardens
*	What are the benefits of a Show-Me Yard?
*	Resisting the urge to spray: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly Bugs
	Partners include: City of Columbia Public Works, Boone County
Public Works, University of Missouri-Extension, Hinkson Creek
Restoration Project, Mid-America Green Industry Council, The Lawn
Company, Atkins Tree and Turf and Creative Surroundings	.
